Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 17, 2026

Handled helps adults organize family information and coordinate shared plans. This policy explains the information used by the Handled website and app, how sharing works, and how to contact us about privacy.

Who operates Handled

Handled is a product operated by Solve It LLC. In this policy, “Handled,” “we,” and “us” mean Solve It LLC and the Handled website and app. You can reach us at Hello@hihandled.com.

Adults only, and information about kids

Handled accounts are for adults 18 and older. Handled is not directed to children, and children should not create accounts or use Handled.

Parents and other authorized adults may add information about their kids, such as first names, school, grade, photos, activities, schedules, and practical details saved as Important details. Only add what you are authorized to share, and think carefully before adding medical, legal, or other sensitive details.

Information used by Handled

The information involved depends on what you add and which features you use:

  • Account and profile information: details such as your name, email address, sign-in information, and profile photo.
  • Family information: information you choose to add about household members and kids, including names, activities, and family relationships.
  • Plans and submitted content: schedules, events, tasks, reminders, files, images, screenshots, messages, and other information you submit, together with information organized from that content.
  • Shared expenses: expense descriptions, amounts, participants, allocations, and reimbursement or confirmation records you enter.
  • Connected services: calendar information and connection details needed for the calendar features you authorize.
  • Notification settings: your notification choices and, if you turn on device notifications, the push address and browser or device type for that device.
  • Service and support information: support messages, sign-in and session information, and technical information such as browser, device, request, and error information used to operate and troubleshoot the service.

Information may come from you, a service you connect, or another person who shares information with you through Handled. Only add information about other people, including kids, that you are authorized to use and share.

How information is used

Handled uses information to create and maintain accounts, organize submitted content, display plans, provide reminders and answers, support collaboration, manage connected features, and send service communications. Information is also used to respond to support requests, troubleshoot problems, and help protect accounts and the service. Handled does not show ads.

AI processing

Some features use automated processing, including AI, to suggest events and tasks from what you add, connect what you add to your existing plans, answer questions in Ask Handled, and write your Home briefing. For these features, Handled sends the relevant information to OpenAI, our AI model provider. This can include text from documents you add, kids’ first names and, when you add something new, their school and grade, and details of saved events and tasks, such as titles, dates, times, locations, items to bring, who is responsible, and short excerpts of their notes with web links removed. It can also include the names of the adults in your household, which household each kid is with on relevant dates, questions you ask Ask Handled, parenting handoff times, and the title of a shared expense waiting for your confirmation, with the name of the person who reported it. Handled does not send your Messages conversations to OpenAI.

Handled tells OpenAI not to store these requests and responses for later use. That setting is separate from OpenAI’s own safety practices: under OpenAI’s current API terms, OpenAI may keep request data for up to 30 days to monitor for abuse, or longer where the law requires, and does not use it to train its models.

When you add a photo or screenshot, Handled first reads its text on your device and sends that text for AI processing. If that reading looks unreliable, Handled may send the original image to OpenAI once so it can be read more accurately. AI results can be incomplete or wrong, so Handled asks you to review suggestions before saving them.

Google Calendar

If you connect Google Calendar, Handled asks Google for permission to see your list of calendars and to view, create, and change events. Handled uses this access only to import events from the calendars you select and to publish Handled events you choose to share to your selected Google calendar. From Google events, Handled reads the title, date and time, location, description, and event link. It does not read guest lists.

Imported events appear in your Handled schedule and are visible to the people who can see that schedule in Handled, such as other adults in your household and anyone you share related items or kids’ schedules with. Imported events may also be used in your Home briefing, in Ask Handled answers, and to connect new information you add to your existing plans. For these features, Handled may send an imported event’s title, date, time, location, and a short excerpt of its description (with web links removed) to OpenAI as described above, only to provide those features to you. Google tokens are stored encrypted.

Handled’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Handled does not use Google data for advertising, does not sell it, and does not use it to train AI models. People do not read your Google data unless you ask us to, it is needed for security or to comply with the law, or it has been combined and anonymized for internal operations.

You can disconnect Google Calendar in Settings or remove Handled’s access in your Google Account. When you disconnect, Handled deletes its stored Google tokens, forgets your calendar choices, asks Google to revoke access, and stops importing. Events already imported stay in Handled until you delete them from the schedule or ask us to delete them. Events Handled published to Google stay in Google Calendar.

If you add a TeamSnap, GameChanger, or SportsEngine calendar link, Handled stores the link encrypted and checks it about once an hour to keep those events up to date.

Uploaded files

Files, photos, and PDFs you add to Handled are stored privately so you can return to the original. Photos added to Handled outside Messages are stored as uploaded and may keep embedded information, such as the location where a photo was taken. Kid and profile photos are stored privately for your household and the people you share them with.

How We Protect Your Information

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information, including Google user data:

  • Encryption in transit: Handled is served only over HTTPS, and connections between Handled and our service providers, including Supabase, Google, and OpenAI, use encrypted (TLS) connections.
  • Encryption at rest: Our database and file storage provider, Supabase, encrypts stored data and backups using AES-256.
  • Google account access: Google access and refresh tokens are encrypted by Handled with AES-256-GCM before they are stored, are kept in a table that signed-in users cannot read directly, and are used only on Handled’s servers. Connecting Google uses a one-time security check to confirm the connection was started from your own signed-in session. When you disconnect, Handled deletes the stored tokens and asks Google to revoke access.
  • Sign-in and access controls: Accounts use Supabase Authentication. Database rules (row-level security) apply to every table and limit family, calendar, Messages, Shared Expense, and helper records to the people who are permitted to see them, such as members of your household, the co-parent you share a kid with, conversation participants, or helpers assigned to a task.
  • Private files: Uploaded documents and photos, saved source documents, Messages attachments, and kid and profile photos are kept in private storage. They are not public, and Handled opens them through temporary links that expire within an hour or less.
  • Limited server access: Keys that can bypass these database rules are kept only on Handled’s servers and are never sent to your browser. The internal beta dashboard is limited to an approved list of Solve It LLC accounts.
  • Limited data sharing: We share information only with the service providers listed in this policy, to provide Handled, and Google user data is handled under the Limited Use requirements described above.

No method of storing or sending information is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Handled does not use end-to-end encryption for Messages or other content. If you believe your account has been accessed without permission, contact us at Hello@hihandled.com.

Sharing with other people

Household adults can access shared household information according to their permissions. Co-parent connections use the selected kid and sharing scopes; a co-parent connection does not by itself join the other household. Shared Expense access is separate and does not by itself grant household membership or access to kids’ schedules.

Helpers, such as grandparents or caregivers, see only the tasks assigned to them, including the related kids’ first names, dates, times, and event logistics such as location and pickup details. Helpers do not see notes, attachments, or the rest of your family’s information.

When you invite someone, Handled uses the email address you provide to send the invitation. Review the people and permissions you select before sharing. You can use the available controls to change or remove access. Removing access cannot take back information someone has already viewed, copied, or saved outside Handled.

Messages

Messages you send to a connected co-parent are visible to both participants. Sent messages cannot be edited or removed through Handled Messages. If your co-parent connection ends, both participants retain read-only access to their conversation history. Either participant can download a copy of a conversation. Handled Messages are not certified records, and Handled does not verify messages for legal proceedings.

Messages can include photos and PDF documents. Attachments are stored privately and are available to the participants of that conversation, and downloads use short-lived access links. Photos attached through Handled Messages are processed before upload to remove embedded metadata, such as location information, and photos that fail our verification checks are not accepted. PDFs and other documents are stored as attached and may retain their own embedded metadata. Once a file or an exported copy of a conversation is downloaded or shared outside Handled, Handled cannot control that copy.

Notifications

If you turn on notifications, Handled sends alerts through your browser or device’s push service, such as Apple or Google, and sends emails through our email provider. Notification text can include event, task, or kid names and may appear on your lock screen. You can change notifications in Handled Settings and in your device settings.

Beta measurement and internal access

During the beta, Handled records limited information about whether key steps worked, such as whether an item was saved, short categories of errors, and a once-a-day record that you opened the app. This information is linked to your account and household so we can find and fix problems. It does not include the content of your documents, messages, or plans. Handled does not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

Authorized Solve It LLC staff can see an internal dashboard with beta participants’ names, email addresses, sign-up progress, and activity counts, but not family content. We also have technical access to stored information through our providers’ administrative tools, and we use it only to run, support, and protect the service, or when you ask us to.

Service providers and other disclosures

Handled uses these service providers: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (sign-in, database, and file storage), OpenAI (AI processing), Resend (email), Google (Calendar, if you connect it), Geoapify (location suggestions), browser and device push services (notifications), and jsDelivr (delivering the on-device text-recognition components). Those providers process information needed for the services they supply. When you type at least three characters in an event or task location field, Handled’s servers send that text to Geoapify to suggest matching places and addresses, along with an approximate, city-level search area if you have one. That search area is remembered only on your device, and you can change or clear it while searching. Handled does not send your name, email, or other family information with it, and does not store what you type unless you save it as the location. We may also disclose information when needed to respond to valid legal requirements, investigate misuse, or protect people, accounts, and the service.

Cookies

Handled uses cookies and similar session information to support sign-in and account access. Browser settings can restrict cookies, but doing so may prevent parts of the service from working.

Your choices and privacy requests

You choose what to submit, which optional services to connect, and what to share through the controls available in Handled. You can review and update information where editing controls are provided.

Handled does not yet offer account deletion inside the app. To ask us to delete your account or information, or to access or correct it, email Hello@hihandled.com from the email address on your account. We may need to verify your identity, and we handle these requests manually.

Deleting an account removes your sign-in account and the information that belongs only to you. Some accounts cannot currently be deleted because they are part of records shared with other people. Messages cannot be deleted, so your co-parent keeps read-only access to your conversations, and your name stays attached to messages you sent. Household and Shared Expense records may remain for the other people who use them. When we can’t delete your account for these reasons, we will close it instead: we take steps to stop the account from being used and remove the information we can, but shared records remain. We will tell you whether your account was deleted or closed and what remains. Neither deletion nor closure removes copies other people have saved or downloaded, and information may remain in our service providers’ backups until those backups are replaced.

How long information remains in the service depends on its purpose, the features used, and operational, security, and legal needs. Contact us if you have questions about a particular record or an account request.

Policy updates and contact

We may update this policy as Handled changes. The date above identifies the latest version, and additional notice will be provided when required. For privacy questions, email Hello@hihandled.com or visit our Contact page.
